RADT-30. RADIATION INDUCED MENINGIOMA IN BACKGROUND OF CHILDHOOD CRANIAL IRRADIATION: A CASE SERIES

Abstract BACKGROUND Cranial irradiation as part of prophylactic (PCI) or radical treatment for childhood malignancies can be associated with late consequences such radiotherapy induced meningioma. METHODS We are reporting 5 patients treated at our institute. RESULTS Case 1: 24y female received PCI Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia the age 2, and developed right frontal meningioma which was resected pathology confirmed grade 2 atypical It 60Gy/30fr year follow up scans remain stable. 2: 31y male a child, parieto-occipital excised multiple times. Pathology revealed Grade 60Gy/30fr. Follow 3.5 yrs later stable.Case3: 37y 3, site meningiomas were excised. showed likely The sphenoid wing lesion progressed years later, re-excised recently 4: 52y retinoblastoma 6-8 wks, left malignant Radiotherapy completed.Case 5: medulloblastoma 5, sites. Over span 10 clinoid lesions increased in size, SRS/SRT recently. CONCLUSION All had background cranial radiation latency period ranging 19 to 52 years. is not possible make an inference on gender, craniaI dose correlation because small number cases lack data dose. Further research needed how prevent secondary standard care meningiomas.
